The Great Celebration of the Energy Transition

The HAEE Energy Initiative Awards represent the institutional evolution of HAEE’s mission to serve as a bridge between academic research and the energy industry. The initiative focuses exclusively on Energy Initiatives—strategic decisions, international partnerships, and innovations that are reshaping the energy landscape of Southeast Europe.

The Awards were held on May 27, 2026, at the National Museum of Natural History Goulandris – GAIA Centre, Athens, Greece.

2026 Award Winners

 

"Energy Initiative of the Year" Award

Presented to IPTO for its initiative "Ariadne Interconnection".

The Award was presented by Kostas Andriosopoulos, Aff. Professor, Finance & Energy Management;
Director, HELLENiQ ENERGY Center for Sustainability and Energy @Alba Graduate Business School;
CEO, Akuo Energy Greece .

 

"Pioneering Innovation & Digital Transformation in Energy" Award

Presented to EKO ABEE, Member of HELLENiQ ENERGY, for its initiative "New EKO App: A comprehensive digital experience for the modern driver".

The Award was presented by Dimitris Fourlaris, Vice-President, RAAEY.

 

"Banking Transformation for the Future" Award

Presented to the National Bank of Greece for its initiative "Transforming Banking to Shape the Future of Energy".

The Award was presented by Prof. George Ioannou, Athens University of Economics and Business; BoD member, HAEE.

 

"Impactful Energy Solutions" Award

Presented to Faria Renewables for its initiative "FARIA GALANI BESS: Powering Energy Transition".

The Award was presented by Prof. Spiros Papaefthimiou, President, HAEE.

 

"Environmental & Social Sustainability Excellence" Award

Presented to ENGAIA for its initiative "Anatolia College / Anatolia American University: Innovative Green Transition through Virtual Net Metering".

The Award was presented by Niki Kerameus, Minister of Labour and Social Security of the Hellenic Republic.

 

"Energy Market Intelligence & Investment Impact" Award

Presented to Deloitte for its initiative "Energy, Resilience & Sustainability Intelligence: Driving Value through Climate Action".

The Award was presented by Dimitris Kairidis, Member of the Hellenic Parliament.

 

"Energy Security & Infrastructure Resilience" Award

Presented to ECO Hellas for their initiative "BIOH2VAP".

The Award was presented by Edward C. Wingenbach, ACG President.

 

"Excellence in Local Green Initiatives and Sustainable Management" Award

Presented to Vasilis Xipolitas, Mayor of Kifissia for his leadership in transforming Kifissia into a national model for climate resilience. 

The Award was presented by Prof. Konstantinos Aravossis, UNESCO Chairholder on Green Innovation & CE; NTUA Vice President & Waste Management; BoD Chairman, RAAEY.
