The Hellenic Association for Energy Economics (HAEE) is seeking a motivated professional to join its team as a Research Associate. This role combines in-depth research, policy analysis and project development, offering the opportunity to contribute to high-profile energy projects, conferences, and publications while engaging with stakeholders across the energy sector.

What We Do
- Organize high-profile events such as the Annual Energy Transition Symposium with industry and academic presence and Ecomobility Conference
- Publish influential reports and materials (e.g., Chart of the Month, In Focus, Greek Energy Market Report)
- Participate in EU-funded research projects and policy initiatives
- Provide educational and networking opportunities for energy professionals
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on energy markets, policies, and sustainability trends
- Prepare reports, policy briefs, presentations, and stakeholder materials
- Assist in the preparation and management of research proposals and projects, including EU-funded initiatives
- Support HAEE’s conferences, workshops, and networking events
Candidate Profile
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Economics, or related field
- Master’s degree in Energy, Economics, or similar preferred
- Certifications in energy modeling, data analysis, or policy are a plus
Professional Experience
- Minimum 3 years in energy market analysis, research, policy, or related roles
- Experience in research projects and proposal writing is strongly desired
- Familiarity with energy systems, electricity markets, pricing mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks
- Experience delivering analytical reports and strategic insights
- Prior experience with think tanks, consultancies, regulators, or industry organizations is a plus
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Strong understanding of energy systems, electricity markets, pricing mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks
- Familiarity with key EU and national energy policies
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, Python, R, or similar)
- Ability to translate complex research into clear, actionable insights
- Strong written and verbal communication in English and Greek
Project & Organizational Skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with cross-functional teams
