The Hellenic Association for Energy Economics (HAEE) invites researchers, academics, professionals, and students to submit original research for the 11th HAEE Energy Transition Symposium, taking place on 26–28 May 2026 in Athens.

Under the theme “Strategic Energy Shifts: Policies and Politics in Transition”, the Symposium provides a leading international forum to present recent research, exchange ideas with global experts, and contribute to evidence-based energy and climate policy at a critical moment for Europe’s transition.

Contributors will have the opportunity to:

  • present high-quality academic and applied research

  • engage in interdisciplinary and policy-relevant debate

  • connect with experts from academia, industry, and government

🎓 Students are especially encouraged to participate and benefit from reduced registration fees.

The list of topics to be addressed includes, but is not limited to: 

  • Geopolitics of energy in transition
  • Climate policy and global agreements
  • Redefining fossil fuels in transition
  • Renewables, industrial strategy, and competitiveness
  • Energy justice, social acceptance, and politics of participation
  • Financing the transition
  • Digitalization, governance, and security
  • Hydrogen, nuclear, and other strategic options
  • Resilience, risk, and adaptive governance
  • The future of global energy governance

Abstracts’ submissions: 20 April 2026

Notification of abstract acceptance: 23 April 2026

Early bird registration fees until: 27 April 2026

Submission of full papers (non-obligatory): 4 May 2026
