The Hellenic Association for Energy Economics (HAEE) is the Greek affiliate of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE). HAEE is a non-profit research and professional organization acting as an interdisciplinary forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences among energy experts.

Greece is going through one of the toughest periods of the country's history as deadliest wildfires in decades headed to Athens' morgue. Major blazes affecting areas traditionally not on the fire-danger map, are prompting questions for answers to this unprecedented phenomenon. All of us, the academic community and the institutional and non-institutional actors, must join forces to avoid a new tragedy. Businesses from the energy sector and the entire economy are called upon to set new frameworks in the sustainable development strategy, frames that will shield man and natural resources from any unexpected threat which, due to mistakes, omissions and lack of knowledge could be fatal.
